About

About Me

My mission is to give adolescents and young adults a safe space and the tools to really figure themselves out. When teens feel misunderstood, confused, anxious, or depressed and feel no one understands them, my role is to listen and to guide them to discover that they are truly capable of presenting their authentic selves to the world and finding their own version of happiness.

My approach to counseling is down to earth and realistic. I focus on creating a safe and positive atmosphere for teens and families to feel comfortable sharing and achieving realistic goals. I educate and engage adolescents in order to put in the work to overcome individual issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger management, and behavioral challenges.

In a family, each individual holds an important role in creating the overall system, and when one part of that system is struggling, the whole family can feel off.  I work to create healthy family dynamics by using a strong collaborative approach and keeping parents involved throughout the process while maintaining your child's privacy.

My clinical experience includes providing counseling within school systems, Baker Act facilities, and within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community which allows me to understand the complex system challenges faced by teens while advocating for the success in all environments. Offering both In-Person and Telehealth Sessions in Florida. Office is located in Coral Springs, FL.

Adolescents are not monsters. They are just people trying to learn how to make it among the adults in the world, who are probably not so sure themselves.

Teen and Young Adult Support

These are the years to build authenticity. You are constantly facing the harsh realities of the world that are teaching you that life isn't always easy and you may not know who you are, if you're making the right choices, why things happen, and a barrage of "what ifs". For the hour we spend together, the focus is on you. The challenge I'll present is teaching you to manage your emotions, to reframe the thoughts that cause you stress, to develop coping skills for problems with friends, relationships, or your family, and to really figure out if you are living a life that aligns with your values.

Whether it is a situational challenge or an ongoing struggle, I know it can be difficult to be vulnerable. My office offers no judgment. This is a place to just figure it all out. While therapy is no cure-all that fixes all of life's issues, it's my goal to give you the space to figure out what makes you feel confident to face them.

Trust your gut. Be adventurous. Have courage. Build character. Be vulnerable.

You're not alone.

Parent Support

Whether you are at a standstill with communicating with your teen or struggling to find a way to connect with them, counseling can focus on your role in the family dynamic to help develop strategies to maintain self-care and build the relationship you want. Parenting therapy helps parents identify, address, and manage their own experiences that may be affecting the way they relate to their child.

While all parents may benefit from therapy, parents who are going through the following issues may significantly benefit from meeting with a counselor:

  • Divorce

  • Marital Problems

  • Substance Abuse Concerns

  • History of Abuse

  • Trauma

  • Coping with individual mental health struggles

  • Struggling to support your teen

Family Support

“I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” -Brene Brown

Family counseling focuses on building connection and balance. We will work together to identify individual strengths and challenges that affect the family dynamic and working on them to create a cohesive unit with respect to each individual. My goal in family counseling is to work together to promote a realistic, maintainable, and fulfilling family lifestyle with open communication, empathy, and understanding.
